Education in the Pandemic

This year has certainly been a roller coaster for many. For some it has been a tragic year. For others, this year has seen loss of employment, feelings of isolation, and many more struggles. For all, it has left us with uncertainty.

However, through all of this, we are reminded of Paul's words to the Romans, chapter 8, "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

This supportive message is what makes our school special.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, our school must start the 2020-2021 academic year in an online format. However, our approach is different than most schools. While we do believe in daily online classes that are live with the teacher, we don't feel that it is the best interest of our families or our children to force them to sit in front of a computer screen for 6-7 hours every day. Our online learning plan relies on a mixture of live classes (limited to 9am-12noon), collaborative learning, and self-directed learning. For our kids' mental health, we encourage our parents to group together to form "education pods" with 2-3 households. Further, we are pursuing weekend sports camps to bring our kids and families together.

It is our hope that we will be able to pursue in-person education as soon as possible. Contact us today for more information or a sit-down with our faculty to learn more about our philosophy of education and how we can help you pursue your child's future.
